Chinese pedagogic monographs are the concentrated textual reflection of pedagogicresearch and are also important references to explore the essence and regulation of education. Byrecalling the more than100years history of Chinese pedagogic development, we can clearlyoutline the developmental track summarized as "beginning——locallzation——stagnation——prosperity on all aspects", which is the concentrated and systematic elaboration of thetransformation of Chinese pedagogic monographs in logical system. According to thecombination of logical approaches and theoretical perspective of compiling the Chinesepedagogic monographs, the basic categories can be divided into natural generated category,artificial abstract category and comprehensive category. The natural generated category is widelyused in compiling the Chinese pedagogic monographs but hard to demonstrate the essence ofeducational phenomenon; the artificial abstract category is usually manifested as problems of adisordered and complicated confent yet not on a high degree; comprehensive category is aconfused structure of categorical logic in fusing the artificial generated category into the naturalgenerated category, or fusing the natural generated category into the artificial generated category.If we use the analytical approach by combining the history and logic, look into the threecategories from ought to be perspective and real to be perspective to establish a categoricalsystem of Chinese pedagogic monographs based on the basic categories of educational activity,educational system, educational mechanism and educational concept, we can get the importanttheoretical value and practical significance for straightening out the logic of basic categories andenhancing the researching level of the basic theory of pedagogy.This paper is consisted of five parts:The first part is concerned about the confine of related concepts in the categories of Chinesepedagogic monographs by confining the related concepts in pedagogy, pedagogic monographs,Chinese pedagogic monographs and their categories. This part is aimed to introduce thetheoretical foundation.The second part illustrates the history of the development of Chinese pedagogicmonographs since the Twentieth century. This part is divided into four stages: beginning,locallzation, stagnation and prosperity of on all aspects to understand the transformation of thecategories of Chinese pedagogic monographs by describing its developmental trak and studyingthe monographs and their features in every stage.The third part focuses on the categories of Chinese pedagogic monographs. This part clearsup and distinguishes the various basic categories embodied in Chinese pedagogic monographsinto three categories: natural generated category, artifical abstract category and comprehensivecategory, and then to explore the specific content of each category.The forth part is a logical relation analysis on the categories of Chinese pedagogicmonographs. This part deeply analyzes and explores the logical relation between naturalgenerated category, artificial abstract category and comprehensive category to demonstrate therationality and boundedness of the categories of Chinese pedagogic monographs. The fifth part is a reflection on the system of the categories of Chinese pedagogicmonographs. This part begins with the existing problems in the categories of Chinese pedagogicmonographs, and then accomplishes the methodology to suggest and demonstrate the system ofthe categories of Chinese pedagogic monographs based on the establishment of educationalactivity, educational system, educational mechanism and education concept.
