Responsibility is a natural duty for human beings given by society. As the main body of society, human fulfill their own responsibilities, which is the motive power maintaining social functioning and the foundation for the entire social development. It is essential for human coming from every aspect and level of our society to be aware of their responsibilities and fulfill them. In the face of different objects, such as himself, other people, nature and society, every person living in society has his own responsibility which needs to be fulfilled. Being brave in performing their obligations is the basic condition for living. Responsibility is not only the demand given by society, but it is also a subjective aim for human searching for themselves, realizing their goals and showing themselves. It is others’requirement as well as the self restraint. But nowadays, there are many social contradictions and practical problems while our country is in the process of rapid development. After a careful analysis, it is obvious that being lack of the sense of responsibility is the basis resulting in these problems and chief contradictions. As the main body for educating and cultivating students, university teacher is one of the major impetuses for the development of our country and the blossom of our nation. Consequently, it is of great significance to do research on university teacher’s responsibility. With the continuous advancement of the entire diathesis of educators, majority of teachers take the responsibilities given by society as their own duties, being diligent and hard-working and regarding education as a holy career for them to pursue. However, there is a phenomenon that minority of educators are lack of the sense of responsibility.Based on the description of the connotation of professional responsibility of university teachers, the paper aims to analyze the embodiment and causes of the fact that some university teachers are lack of the sense of responsibility in order to provide inspiration for improving the status with the rational thinking about the results of the questionnaire survey on university teachers’sense of responsibility. It can be divided into four chapters. Chapter one analyzes the research backgrounds and motivation in order to show the practical significance of the study. It brings forth the entire arrangement, research methods by introducing the overseas and domestic research status.Chapter Two expands the connotation of university teachers’ sense of responsibility by defining what is their sense of responsibility and interpreting its basic demand in the new era.Chapter Three analyzes the embodiment and causes of the fact that some university teachers are lack of the sense of responsibility through the systematic study and rational thinking about the results of the questionnaire survey on university teachers’ sense of responsibility.Aiming at the major problems of being lack of the sense of responsibility for university teachers in our country, Chapter Four brings forwards some strategies for solving the problem and declares it is possible to establish the long-term mechanism for cultivating university teachers’professional responsibility.
