Research On Confucian Self-education Students' Morality Role

In the background of information age and socialist market economy, self-consciousness of the contemporary college students has increasingly strengthened, and the effect of self-education is becoming more and more important in the moral education in high schools. Therefore, the way which can guide college students to educate themselves, cultivate the capacity of self-education and build up the awareness is especially important. The Confucian culture is the valuable treasure of the Chinese traditional culture, including Confucian cultivating thought which is in accord with the self-education of contemporary college students. Confucian cultivating thought elaborates on how to enhance ideological and moral education in content and methods, which consider that cultivation improve individual’s moral level, and promote the development of state and society by means of self-improvement. Confucian cultivating thought emphasizes thinking and learning, restraining in privacy, which has a significant influence on self-education of the contemporary college students.The article firstly launched the current situation about the self-education of the contemporary college students, and investigated the problems and its reasons exist in. Secondly, it introduced main content and methods about Confucian cultivating thought. Then the paper combined both above to absorb reasonable component of the Confucian cultivating, from which we could draw lessons from its goals, content and methods. It provided effective guidance for educators to carry out self-education of the contemporary college students, and promote development by themselves.
