In recent years, with the social development and the continuing reform ofcompulsory education, the spare time of junior middle school students increasesinstantly in our country. As an important part of junior middle school students’ life,the quality of spare life affects the improvement of their quality、the development oftheir ability and has further influence to the adapting to life in the future. The increasein spare time provides a possibility for the comprehensive development of junior highschool students, however, it doesn’t mean to promote the quality of spare life, so theguidance for junior middle school students’ spare life is of important significance onstudents’ own development. This thesis does the investigation and analysis on sparelife state of middle school students in the town through questionnaire and interview,analyses the causes of problems of the spare life of them and comes up with theguiding strategies of spare life.The thesis has four parts:The first part, the thesis elaborated the reasons and significance of the research;and based on the predecessors’ research, defines three core concepts of spare, sparetime and spare life; and points out the distinction and connection between spare life ofjunior high school students and their extracurricular activities. And then expounds theresearch methods of this study.The second part, expounds the meaning of the spare life to their own developmentof junior middle school students: Reduce the burden of learning, so that students willhave more space to display freely; Relieve nerves of students, so that students willhave a primary activity, tight pine; Broaden students’ horizons, expand the range oftheir knowledge and form certain skills; Promote students’ interpersonalcommunication and establish harmonious interpersonal relationship; Help studentsperfect the development of students’ personality.The third part, the author investigates their spare life through Questionnaire andinterviewing methods, with three hundred junior middle school students of Chang Yiexperimental middle school as the research objects. Based on the analysis ofstudents’ spare time, content and so on, the thesis discusses the existing problems inthe spare life of junior middle school students: Most of the students are arbitrary andblind in the use of spare time; The students of junior middle school in the town havemore spare time, but less free time; Their activities have single place, narrow socialinteraction; Families and schools lack the guidance of spare life of students. To thereasons of these problems, the thesis analyses from the junior middle school studentsthemselves, family and school education, social environment.The fourth part, the guidelines for junior middle school students’ spare life areproposed from junior middle school students themselves, family, school and socialenvironment. Do some reflection on teaching guidance to the students’ spare lifecombined with my own education practice.
