Wushu is an important part of Chinese traditional culture, it creates and builds up a valuable cultural heritage in the long-term social practice by Chinese, and it is a priceless treasure of traditional culture in our country. The way of Wushu practice is not only varied, but also combined the Chinese traditional Confucian thoughts, form aesthetics, Chinese medicine health care and many other thoughts of subjects, Wushu has rich cultural deposits and philosophy, and Wushu not only has profound mass base in China, along with our country’s reform and opening up and the increase of cultural exchange, the Chinese martial arts in the international also has a far-reaching influence, made highly praise by the world. Wushu, as a basic content of school physical education, is the effective way to disseminate Wushu and carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture. However, the present teaching situation of Wushu in middle school is worrying. This article is through the study of Wushu teachers and students from20junior high school in5representative cities around the southern, the northern and the middle region in Jiangsu province, to find out the main factors hindering the development of school martial arts, and through the analysis, to summarize experience and give some suggestions for the teaching of Wushu in middle school in Jiangsu, and provide some help for the reform of Wushu teaching.Wushu, as an important part of Chinese culture, has a huge influence in the domestic and foreign-Wushu inherits and carries forward in contemporary society,"hot and cold" society Wushu is very hot in the cultural exchange, but is very cold in the primary and secondary school physical education and health curriculum teaching. What’s the current situation on earth? What’s the cause? How to solve these problems? Make China’s school physical education and health courses marked a "Chinese impression"-therefore, through the Wushu teachers and students in those junior high schools which open the Wushu course, to make the research of the present situation, problems and causes in the reform of Wushu teaching under the reform of physical education and health curriculum.From the investigation and analysis of the current situation of junior high school Wushu teaching, we get the following conclusions:most schools have different degree of obsolete teaching mode, single content, disconnected with the needs of students; Wushu teachers in Jiangsu province is given priority to with young and middle-aged teachers, low of school age, lack of experience in teaching, the teaching master is not comprehensive; Wushu classes require teachers to have highly concentrated attention and to have large energy consumption, thus leading part of Wushu teachers teach with little enthusiasm or unwilling to teach; Wushu teachers just finish the routine teaching, for Wushu internal principle, most teachers teach few or nothing about the offensive and defensive combat involved, so the teaching effect is not so perfect, students’ interests in learning is also greatly reduced, it is easy to make students think Wushu is a hollow, it is also harmful to student’s correct cognition; Wushu teachers have a low cognition of defending and self-defense value, and the students’cognition is higher, this phenomenon may cause the result that teachers in the teaching will ignore the value of self-defense of Wushu, and the students’awareness of Wushu is most from television, novels and so on, so many students think Wushu is just the self-defense, combat skills, the cognitive deviation may directly affect the root causes of contradiction between teaching and learning; Teachers and students have different expectations toward the reform of Wushu curriculum:students and teachers have large disagreements with the issue of Wushu curriculum strengthen the defending and self-defense skills, and the antagonism of Wushu; Students have poor consciousness of Wushu theory learning; Wushu teachers and students approve of the improvement of volitional quality and consummate routine. So they put forward:we need to strengthen the construction of the teachers, make efforts to improve cognitive level and their professional skills, organize some training for the teachers on a regular basis to improve the teachers’ professional quality. Pay attention to the main role of the students. The choice of teaching content should be accordance with the requirements of The Times development, Wushu class teaching material content arrangement should be pay attention to the form and the connotation of Wushu. Aim to cultivate the students’ interest in Wushu, should increase the simple mechanical pattern and practical teaching. Increase Wushu theory class, to improve the students’ awareness of Wushu. Increase prepared and interaction between teachers and students; To improve the practicability and the confrontational of Wushu. Make the Wushu class more interesting, to enhances the student to stay warm about Wushu.
