Abstract/Summary:
Self-identity is a concept derived from Erikson’s individual developmenttheory, and regarded as a lifetime subject, having expansibility and epigenetically.Whether the adolescent youth or the students in the college, they both have acommon&inevitable task needed to resolve in their life: preventingidentity-diffusion, promoting identity-achievement. Currently, personality is a keycontent in Scholastic Mental Health Education&Psychological Quality CultivateEducation, those key is the advancement of self-identity. So, this research thinks itis an important subject to explore an effective intervention pattern for self-identityof specialist students.In this thesis, two classes of engineering students in the college fromNanchang City, Jiangxi province are used to be subjects. First, it is necessary togive an extent range investigation among specialist students before the intervention.Then, based on the results to understand the current ego-identity status and therelationship among interpersonal relationships, sense of school belonging andidolatry, and it is necessary to build a scheme of “specialist students’ self-identitygroup counseling” which combined it with emotional intelligence training goals.Next, it will choose two classes randomly in light of all those results; then,sampling one of the chosen classes as the experimental class, and offeringtwo-month group counseling, another one as the comparative class, with nointerventional activities. After the consultation, an after-examination is given. Last,this study will discuss the specialist students’ self-identity effect on the groupcounseling content which is carried out by the psychological quality educationprinciples.Conclusions of the paper are following:(1) The distribution of specialist students’ self-identity status is disproportion.Ninety-four percent students’ self-identity status hasn’t established and fifty-ninepoint seven percent students are still in D-M status.(2) Self-identity scale has significantly correlations with interpersonalrelationships, sense of school belonging and idolatry. (3) Self-identity scale can be remarkably predicted by interpersonalrelationships, sense of school belonging and idolatry.(4) The group counseling content which is founded on the psychology qualityeducation content and principles has the effect and feasibility to improve specialiststudents’ self-identity level.
