Study Of Juvenile Offenders’ Community Corrections

Abstract:The community corrections system is a major reform of China’s penal system. Under the protection of the legitimate rights and interests, Community corrections help juvenile offenders to re-socialization, avoiding cross-infection of prison execution. Community corrections also help juvenile offenders adapt and integrate into social life faster. It reduces the workload and enforcement costs for prisons. Our community corrections for juvenile offenders have made some achievements, but our people still lacks of scientific execution philosophy. Compared with the experience of developed countries, our community corrections for juvenile offenders lack of legislation. There are also no specialized agencies, professional workers, or specialty correction projects for juvenile offenders community corrections in China. Therefore, we need to improve the community corrections for juvenile offenders. We should legislate for juvenile offenders community corrections, specialize correction agencies and recruit professional workers. We should also enrich our specialty correction projects. Only in this way, we could build our own community correction system for juvenile offenders in China.
