This essay is based on domestic and foreign research status of the inquiry learning, to explore its theoretical basis and practical significance, and Reveal the characteristics of ideological and political course inquiry learning under the condition of the new curriculum reform. The author has carried on the questionnaire survey in Guangzhou Yucai Middle School for its high school students. Through investigation, the author found the problems such as the divorcement of teaching forms from contents and the divorcement of teaching attitudes from education purpose, and obstacle factors to carry out inquiry learning in high school ideological and political course. For the problems and obstacle factors mentioned above and with the ideological and political course’s objectives in high school as the starting point, which request to cultivate students’ knowledge of science quality, but also to cultivate students to form the emotion and attitude, this essay attempts to find out the general character between the inquiry learning and ideological and political course in high school from the main body, content, perspective of inquiry learning in ideological and political course, All these are aimed to solve the problems and the obstacle factors of inquiry learning carried out in ideological and political course in high school and eventually achieve the effective integration of inquiry learning with high school ideological and political course, which will improve teaching effectiveness and play the unique role of inquiry learning in the practice of teaching.
