As the researchers and backbone of national scientific research in the future, graduatestudents shoulder the heavy responsibility of science and technology innovation. Conductingresearch integrity education and standardizing their academic behavior will help graduatestudents to establish correct moral codes and get into the habit of independent thinking. Asone of the countries with the most developed higher education in the world, America startedearlier on research integrity education. Moreover, with the implementation of responsibleconduct of research education program, America has initially formed the integrated researchintegrity education system. Educational method is one component of this system. TheAmerican responsible conduct of research education has changed the traditional infusioneducation method by adopting new-type and diversified education method, which stimulatedgraduate students’ learning enthusiasm and obtained outstanding educational effect. Thispaper takes American responsible conduct of research education method of graduate studentsas the research object, combs its evolution process, emphatically analyzes its current situationand points out its characteristics as well as existing problems, which will provide referencefor method of the implementation of scientific research integrity education in China.The whole paper can be divided into five parts:Part one is introduction. The introduction mainly clarifies the theoretical values andpractical significance of the selected topics, defines the basic concepts, introduces theresearch status on this problem of domestic and foreign scholars and explains the researchthought and methods of this study.Part two introduces the evolution process of responsible conduct of research educationmethod among American graduate students and then grasps its development law by combingeducation method in various periods.Part three introduces the current situation of responsible conduct of research educationmethod among American graduate students from five aspects including establishing honorsystem, conducting systematical course teaching, carrying out supplemental discussion activities, functioning the example and guidance of teachers and leading graduate students onself-education.The characteristics and problems of responsible conduct of research education methodamong American graduate students are analyzed in part four. By making a detailedintroduction of responsible conduct of research education method among American graduatestudents, this paper sums up three characteristics including the combination of expliciteducation and implicit education, educational guidance and institutional constraint as well asthe theoretical teaching and practice instruction respectively. In addition, some problems ofresponsible conduct of research education method among American graduate students such asthe degree of teachers’ support, the degree of postgraduates’ participation and the graduatestudents’ concern on the honor system are raised in this part.Based on the current situation, characteristics and problems of educational method ofAmerican graduate students, several enlightenments on the implementation on domesticresearch integrity education are showed in part five, namely, enhancing the restraint functionof institution practically, bringing responsible conduct of research education into thecurriculum system, conducting educational activities with discussion, strengthening teachers’demonstration and guidance, and attaching the importance of developing graduate students’subjective initiative.
