Interest in learning has always been a main theme of education research,students’ interest in study can be divided into individual interest and the situation ofinterest.For this situation, this article selects the sample area for five samples ofschools for a study of the students’ interest in learning geography situation in Bo Zhouregion. Mainly adopt the method of questionnaire distribution and recovery for thesample schools by using stratified sampling method of random sampling. Theinvestigation and study the main five motivations, affecting the situation in whichstudents understanding of geography and the geography teachers, geography teachingmaterial, geography extracurricular activities and geography exam papers, in addition.Investigate the students’ evaluation mainly includes two aspects: learning evaluationand product evaluation. Survey on students for geographical cognition degree ofwhich nearly ninety percent of the students think that geography is useful in our dailylife. For86%of the students think geography learning sample schools are helpful toraise their ability to learn. There are16%of students said they in geography classoften does his homework for other subjects. And13%of the students think thatgeography is all other ’it doesn’t work. There are65%of the students said they oftenread maps and62%of students said they often through geography textbook content.The teacher has not talked about in61%of the students reflect their interest ingeography. In terms of geography teachers, according to the survey found that nearlythirty percent of students think geography teacher knowledge from the book, almost athird of the students in geography class hope to class and that have said one third ofthe students in geography class won’t often think about the teacher’s questions. Eightypercent of the students hope the teacher will deep knowledge about some. Thissuggests that geography teachers classroom knowledge is too shallow, two-thirds ofthe students reflect the geography teachers shall not apply to the multimedia teachingin class. In terms of geography teaching material which for students of survey datashow that nearly one third of the students think geography is very boring. From thesurvey data, the majority of students believe that part of the natural geography thehardest thing to learn to understand, more than half of the students think geography isbad memory. In terms of geographical extracurricular activities, the investigation ofthe sample area high school, for the most part, did not carry out extracurricularactivities related to geography. In the aspect of geography exam, there are still nearlya quarter of the students is not strong, grasp the basis of geographical materials rich inpaper can be seen that there are still deficiencies. In addition, it can be seen that thestudent’s geography grades is far lower than the academic level of the result of theexamination. For sample school students moral evaluation survey found that thestudents’ evaluation on the whole, a good moral character. Survey results show thatBo Zhou area high school in for geographical understanding on most of the studentsunderstanding of geographical degrees can comprehensively, but there are stilldeficiencies. High school geography teachers in the two aspects of geography andteachers’ professional was to strengthen. High school geography teaching materialneed to strengthen closely connected with reality, avoid more profound professionalknowledge. High school in the region should be how to carry out extracurricularactivities. High school geography exam questions should be rich, paper material isillustrated.
