In recent years, the advancement of domestic socialist market economy andpeople’s living standard have led to the emergence of a growing need for highereducation, which is difficult for tranditional higher education to meet. This contradictionforced the higher education of our country to make a change. Independent colleges wereborn at the right moment to tackle this problem, making it possible to popularize highereducation.Independent colleges’ higher education form, that is, the brand new school-runningmodel and operation mechanism, is considered as a major reform in Chinese highereducation development, making a major change of Chinese higher education from elite"to "popularization". Throughout the ten years of independent colleges’ development, agreat deal of achievements were made, and some social contradictions were alleviated.However, in the process of running independent colleges, many problems emerged. Oneof the most prominent the problem is the internal power structure. Independent collegesmust do innovation and optimization. Only in this way can they adapt to thedevelopment of society and economy and promote their healthy and sustainabledevelopment.This thesis studies on internal power structure of the independent colleges in ourcountry, and carries out a holistic research on the optimization of its internal powerstructure. This thesis is devided into five parts:The first part: introduction. This part mainly illustrates the raise of the researchobject, the purpose and significance, research status and methodology.The second part: the theoretical basis of the optimization of independent colleges’internal power structure. It maily analyses power and power theory, theory ofindependent colleges’ internal governance structure, independent colleges’ internalgovernance and good governance theory, etc.The third part: the current situation of independent colleges’ internal powerstructure. Basic situation of independent college, the characteristics of the independentcollege internal power configuration, and problems in the independent colleges’ internalpower structure are mainly studied.The fourth part: the optimization of independent college internal power structure.The optimization principle of independent colleges’ internal power structure, methods toestablish a scientific governance structure, methods to establish an efficient and orderlyoperation mechanism, etc., are studied.The fifth part: conclusion. It mainly sums up the basic conclusion according to theresearch in the above chapters.
