| With the development of social civilization, people require more from the education providedby society, especially in terms of education for the next young generation. The demand forprofessional teachers is an essential factor in high quality education. Those excellent teachers inmiddle schools are backbones in school education and play an important role in the enhancementof the teachers’ quality as a whole. With the hope to provide advice for all the teachers, thisresearch focuses on the study of a particular excellent teacher by presenting his professional growthsteps, analyzing the internal and external factors during his growth, exploring the features and thenconcluding on the influencing factors for the professional growth and development for the teachers.This study is a qualitative research by means of presenting the story of the research object, anexcellent teacher works in a middle school in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The materials arecollected by interviewing the teacher himself, his colleagues and his students, attending his lectures,observing his routine work, analyzing his working diary and daily teaching activities. The studytries to revert to the original state of the research object in accordance to the research purpose andmethod so as to keep an objective attitude towards during the study, and thus to provide anexample for other teachers to follow and research materials for further study.This thesis is divided into four parts.Part I Introduction.In this part, the writer stated the research background and reason for this study by introducingthe research status of the professional growth and development for the teachers and the researchstatus of the excellent teachers in our country. Also in this part, the writer brought forward theresearch topic, the method and the significance of the study. The writer defined two concepts, thatis, excellent teachers and professional growth as teachers to well illustrate the main factors andconnotation of the professional growth in this study.Part II Presentation of professional growth about the research objectThis part consists of the presentation of the story of the research object by the writer and theinterpretation from other teachers.Part III Rational analysis of professional growth about the research objectIn this part, the writer studied the professional growth steps of the research object to explorehis education philosophy as well as the internal and external factors that influence his professionaldevelopment, through which the research rises from the perceptual level to a rational one. Part IV Enlightenment from the case studyIn this part, the writer analyzed the factors that influence the professional growth anddevelopment of the research object. This part provided some reference to professionalimprovement for other teachers. |
