Since the reform and opening up, China’s English training industry has achievedrapid development. Accession to the WTO once again has injected new vitality to theEnglish training industry. For the XHD English education and training institutions,corporate social responsibility (CSR) can promote her sustained and healthy development,so that XHD enable an invincible position in the fierce competition of the industry. In2009, the failures of International English education Linguaphone lead a great debate inChina, which has fully exposed that domestic foreign language education and traininginstitutions are lack of social responsibility. Therefore, the study of social responsibilitiesin the positioning of XHD’s development strategies, resulting developing a suitablestrategy has important theoretical and practical significance.Firstly, on the basis of summarizing related literatures on English education andsocial responsibility, we employ empirical research to identify the situation anddevelopment trend of China’s current foreign language training and education institutions.Then, using the SWOT method, we deeply analyze the competitive advantage, weaknesses,external opportunities and threats of XHD, and propose a development strategy guided bysocial responsibility for XHD; i.e., consumer and employee-oriented strategy developmentmode. After that, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of theXHD social responsibility using Carroll’s theory, which targeted to develop a strategicdevelopment framework guided by social responsibility. Finally, we present someeffective advices to ensure the implementation of the framework.
