In this process, there area great many of social elites who loves themselves country and cares about the futureof the country very much. When they face the reality, the mind of saving the nationhad been aroused. Zhang Zhijiang, as one of those whit lofty ideals who advocatedsaving the nation by wushu and defending the country with a strong race in modernchina, established the central Wushu Hall and National Wushu Sports Normal Schoolsuccessively.Being praised as the first person who promoted Chinese wushu to theinternational sports circle, he left a colorful impress in Chinese history.His thinking ofsaving the nation by wushu have an very important influence on development ofChinese sports.This paper uses literature method, logical analysis and historical analysis inresearch methods, in order to highlight the contribution of Mr. Zhang Zhijiang havemade to the development of Chinese martial arts as a starting point, to ZhangZhijiang’s martial arts thought as the object of study, by Zhang Zhijiang Wushuthought influence on the later generations as the target, through the grasp andunderstanding based on a large number of the literature and data, as far as possible toZhang Zhijiang’s martial arts thought given to analysis objective, comprehensive,rational, and thus on the previous development of Wushu contribution affirmed, so asto provide reference and reference later development of Chinese traditional Wushu.The main results of research in this paper:(1) The definition of Zhang Zhijiang’s Thinking of Wushu, function of Wushu,Zhang Zhijiang role in the specific historical background and other elements ofthinking, based on practice martial arts own rich on the idea and theory. It relates tothe military, education, communication and other fields. It is the core of the martialarts as a means to reach the "physical strength, thus saving the country". It is the nature of the specific environment for the value orientation of Wushu.(2) Zhang Zhijiang for the martial arts of the pursuit of value, the developmentdirection of logically progressive type. Its recovery by carrying forward the Chinesenation "warrior" spirit; and the national martial arts, martial arts so as to achieve the"fit and strong" objective; the final national spirits, strong body, achieve the ultimategoal of powerful country.(3) Zhang Zhijiang as a member of the social elite group, he embodied byideology, reflects the value orientation of an era. This kind of value orientation ofperformance as a way to save the nation in exploration, the exploration of the typicalsign is to advocate the "martial spirit" and "militarism" as the representative of thephysical education thought.
