Based on the comparison of twins and non-twin family socialization process, this dissertation triesto explore how the twins to complete “Pecking Order Socialization”. Twins in the physical propertiesthat do not have a pecking order, but they have a pecking order on social attributes, and thus study ofpecking order socialization’s mechanism is of great importance. This study mainly uses the “snowballmethod” to find the right interviewees, using semi-structured interviews, supplemented by informalinterviews and participative observation method to collect data. This study found that:The formed mode of behavior and attitude with high homogeneity between twins and non-twinsiblings: the elder tends to responsibility, be family-oriented, altruism and industry orientation; theyounger tends to right orientation, individual development, self-interest and benefit orientation. There isno doubt to trust their pecking order in siblings; however, the twins are not.The parents build the twins’ pecking order by the physical medium which conveys the uniquepecking order messages in the twin boundary. These physical media can be divided into the“Responsibility-Labor Orientation” and “rights-Enjoy Orientation” symbol system. Though thephysical medium in twins’ family is different, the meaning of the symbol is tending to be consistent.There is a unique inner fluctuation in twins: the fracture of “identity” and “role”, convergence andtwins’ priority. These discontinued inner processes are caused by the difference between twin systemand outside system.
