The Discourse Construction In Internet Mass Incidents

Internet mass incidents is a new type and important form of civil disorder in recent years in our country,is one of mass against politics based on China’s reality, has its background, mechanism and social impact, we can not think it as an extension of real civil disorder in the network. The essential difference between internet mass incidents and real civil disorder is that:the real civil disorder’s basic feature is the physical presence, is a kind of existence, while the internet mass incidents is not subject to physical presence, but to discourse.Discourse construction is the key mobilization power and important features of internet mass incidents. In this article, through analyzing the characteristic of discourse construction focuses on the influence of discourse construction to internet mass incidents. The author thinks that, the effects mainly embodied in three aspects:1, The interaction influence. This article analyzes how discourse construction transform contingencies upward scale shift to internet mass incidents through "upgrade—counterspell—demonstration" three dimension, discusses how events check and balance on traditional media and government from network to reality, and explores how internet mass incidents attract the follow—up discourse demonstrate the previous discourse template.2, The social influence of internet mass incidents and discourse construction,both positive and negative functions. Internet mass incidents and discourse construction can rich media agenda-setting, shift the government’s policy agenda, wake up consciousness of citizenship, act as a Social Relief Valve, etc. Meanwhile, its negative influence cannot be ignore, such as challenge the independence of the judicature, suppress rational thinking and threaten social stability, etc.3, Internet mass incidents and discourse construction have potential function, can solve problem in non-institutionalized ways. People take a cautious attitude towards such discourse so it can achieve social stability and harmony.
