With the development of nowadays educational practice and the deepen of educational research, educational engineering becoming a new research field. Not only the communication of education theorists and practice, but also the development of educational engineering need the appearance educational engineers.Educational engineering is researching the transformation between educational theory and educational practice, therefore, as the subject of this work; educational engineer is a kind of workers who make transformation between educational theory and educational practice in educational field. They transform from profound educational theory which is created by educational experts to educational plans and program which can be operated by education practice workers, in order to promote the scientification, high energy and efficiency of education science; at the same time, they make the engineering extraction and collection of educational practice, offering rich resource for education theorists’creation and promoting educational theory’s update and development. Educational engineer have some relevance with education theorists, teacher and Education Administrator, but also have many difference.The function of educational engineers includes two major parts:one part is the engineering transformation of "Educational Theory from Practice", includes extract the educational theory from actual educational problem and educational practical experience; another part is the engineering transformation of "educational theory back to practice" by mastering the educational Ideas, working out the educational objectives, designing the educational plans and setting up the educational principles.In order to perform these functions, educational engineer should have some qualities and abilities. At first, educational engineers need have enough major enthusiasm, such as the motive and perseverance of changing reality; second, educational engineers need have some practical experience, not only need have enough education and teaching experience, but also need have the insight and thinking of realizing practical problem; third, educational engineers need have solid theoretical foundation; at last, educational engineers need have professional engineering thinking.The existence of educational engineers has a great significance. Firstly, educational engineers can promote the specialization of teaching, by providing plans and principles for teaching, improving the efficiency and scientific of teachers’work; secondly, educational engineers can ensure education theorists be constantly enrich, by promoting the "prototype theorists" for educational theory’development and enhancing the working enthusiasm of educational theorists; thirdly, educational engineers can promote the development of educational engineering, such as enrich the theoretical research of educational engineering and promote the implement of educational engineering activities; fourthly, educational engineers can promote the development of educational career, such as ensure the scientific of educational administration and promote educational reform process smoothly.
