The reason why I chose Xilinhaote as the research base for loneliness of the elders was that we can comprehend the status quo of the loneliness the elders suffer, analyze the reasons and factors which cause the problem, and at the same time apply it to relive or erase it through this research achievement. So this research is of importance both theoretically and practically. Firstly, based on the minority ethnic groups area, we expand the targets of loneliness research, and the types enriches the research achievement of loneliness. Secondly, the classified discussion on types of loneliness distinguishes its characteristics and influencing factors, which is easier to find the cause of the different kinds, so we could better help the elders walk out of their negative emotions, improve their living standards, and tend to enhance our old-age care quality in the long run. Both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in practical processing. For gathering data, we used questionnaire and interviewing method. We used cluster sampling in questionnaire and finally got468effective questionnaires among all the500copies we gave out. By doing a descriptive statistics analysis on those data, we drew some conclusions on the general situation and distribution of loneliness. We used judgmental sampling and accidental sampling for choosing the33elders to the one-to-one depth interview, and the information we gathered were used to comprehend and analyze the extent and influencing factors of loneliness. The conclusions were drawn as follows:First, the advanced ages men feel more lonely than those young old,but more young old women feel more lonely than advanced ages; Sexually, more women feel lonely than men, but more men feel lonely than women in the advanced ages.Second, living pattern, obedience of their kids, support from their families and society, recreational activities extra are the factors contributing to the elders’ loneliness. But the core factor is still the acquisition of close relationships and interpersonal relationships.
