A Research On Evolution Of Taekwondo Contest Rules And Its Development Trend

With the development of the society and the progress of era, taekwondo sport isincreasingly showing its unique charm and bursting out its unique light in the field ofsports. But this kind of sport is newly emerged in our country, which is still in itsdeveloping stage. The rules of Taekwondo competition are frequently changed. Beingfamiliar with the rule of the contest is helpful to improve the taekwondo team traininglevel and competition level of our country.This study mainly takes the content of the taekwondo competition rules from1992to2010as the research object. By means of materials collection, expertinterview, mathematical statistics and logic analysis, this article emphatically combsthe evolution course of the taekwondo competition rules. The study analyzes theimpact on training, tactics, and officials’ judgment by the change of taekwondocompetition rules. The characteristics of the changing process in the evolution of thetaekwondo competition rules have summed up in this study. This article also discussesthe reason of the changing of taekwondo competition rules. The development trend ofthe taekwondo competition rules and the countermeasures of the change havepredicted in the study.The research results show as follow:1. From1992to2010, taekwondo competition rules have changed8times whichinvolving49changes, but there is no fixed modifying year. As the request of the gamebecoming stricter, the modification is also getting more and more frequent.2. From1992to2010, the evolution of taekwondo competition rules shows thefollowing four characteristics: change the contest method, shorten the time, speed upthe rhythm; strictly control the weight level and weighing time; Increase the difficulty,pay attention to excellent perform; Encourage positive and restrict negative.3. The motivations of taekwondo competition the evolution rules are as follow:the need of increasing the competitiveness of international competition, the demand ofthe competitive sports commercialization, the requirements based on athletes, fullyconsideration of the safety factor, the technical development and the game fair andaccurate demand.4. The evolution of taekwondo competition rules reflects the trend ofdevelopment: change the way of competition, shorten the time, speed up the rhythm;Pay more attention to the entertaining and exciting elements, technical stability and the severity of the fight; Pay more attention to the standardization and the accuracy ofthe judgment, the chance result of the game; More efforts to the anti-doping.5.
