Educational reform is influenced by social development and in return restricts thedevelopment of society, which urges various countries to carry on the educational reform. Inrecent years, China has carried out a new round of curriculum reform. Teaching materialsare the most basic tool of teachers’ teaching and students’ learning, the carrier of theeducational reform, and the important resource for teachers and students to learn, so theeducational reform should start with the textbook.In2004, our country promulgated the "ordinary high school mathematics curriculumstandards" and fully implemented the new teaching materials in2007. In this curriculumreform, there is a big change in high school mathematics textbooks. In order to adapt to thedemands for education in various regions, the country encourages some relevantdepartments to compile textbooks for basic education according to the new curriculumstandard. Therefore, there appears the phenomenon of "one standard, multiple Versions" invarious areas. At present, there are five versions of the senior high school mathematics textbooks inChina: The A version published by People’s Education Press is mainly used in Jilin,Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia and so on, which has the highest rate of being used; the Bversion published by People’s Education Press is mainly used in Liaoning province andsome other areas; the textbooks published by Beijing Normal University Press is compiledby the central normal colleges, which reflects the higher normal colleges’ understanding anddesign of the basic education textbook; Jiangsu Education Publishing House publishes oneversion of textbooks; Hunan Education Publishing House publishes another version oftextbooks. Each version of the materials has its own advantages and disadvantages. Futureeducational reform should inherit the advantages and avoid the shortcomings, so it isnecessary to make a comparative analysis of multiple versions of textbooks. But consideringit will take too much work and time to compare all the versions of textbooks, the authorchooses people’s education press A and Beijing Normal University press to be compared. And considering the three-dimensional geometry is an important and difficult content forteaching and learning, the author chooses the solid geometry knowledge as the researchobject. This paper analyses the differences between the two versions from the followingaspects: the compiling idea, structure, content, examples and exercises, etc.. The researchmethods of text analysis and comparative study are used in this study. Finally, the compilingcharacteristics of the two versions are reached after analyzing an summarizing. The authorhopes that this study can provide some reference to high school mathematics teachers in theteaching of geometry knowledge.
