This paper aims to analyze and study the similarities and differences of trigonometric function in senior high school by both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Based on this, we can know, comprehend and grasp it comprehensively and systematically.First of all, the paper looks back the development of trigonometric function between mainland and Taiwan so that we can know the changes and reform; second, the comparative study of mathematics teaching ideas of senior high school by both sides of the Taiwan Straits revealing the disparities of teaching trigonometric function; third, it points out the differences between the target number and level though the concrete analysis of trigonometric function’s goals in The Outline of Course and New Course Standards; fourth, it gives us a comparative study of teaching materials about trigonometric function:the arrangement of the teaching materials, the demands of teaching, the examples and exercises, the degree of difficulty and so on; lastly, it has made the forecast to the future trigonometric function development tendency.I hope we can learn from each other and achieve the complementary through the study of this subject which will help promote the cultural exchanges, educational development and the harmonious development of cross-Straits relations.
