In recent years, Teakwood, as a traditional martial arts skill, actively shows in the stage of world sport. Its functions and impacts are not only strengthening the people’s health and promoting sportsmanship, but also being a compatibility of eastern and western sports. As to its history, it’s age-old:originated in the ancient Korean Peninsula, popularized in Three Kingdoms of Korea (Xinluo, Baekje, Korea), loved by all classes of the people of ancient Korea. It owns the spirit of the times as well. With the perfecting rules, regulations and cultural concepts, adding related elements in accordance with times theme, it has become different with the original ancient oriental martial arts, but being a modern sport with times significance. It has a strong ability of inclusion and transformation of the culture, absorbs the cultural philosophy and development modes which can benefit its own perfection, and forms a unique cultural system.Since the modern Teakwood developing to shape well, many Chinese scholars and experts compare the system construction, policy environment, technical regulations and management concepts between Teakwood and Chinese martial arts, Japanese Karate. They try to find out the reasons that Teakwood, as an oriental martial art sport, can stand erectly in Olympics games which is dominated by western culture, and can popularize over the world; meanwhile to give valuable suggestions. As a matter of fact, seen the operability suggested by them, the effectiveness of many proposes are limited. As to its reasons, based on the understanding of Teakwood, culture is the root of way to understand the reality of things. It can often find out the essence of things (especially in deep culture). It decides things’final trends. This is not an alarmist of cultural theory, but the basis of materialism:consciousness has dynamic functions on the material.The concepts of culture are quite wide; it’s hard to define its conception by accurate words. According to statistics, there are nearly three hundred conceptions about culture. But to summarize, culture is a kind of group behavior within certain scope of society (ethnic or nation), attached to continuous historical culture, geographical environment, thinking modes and so on."Culture" contains abundant conations, and is difficult to sort out. And the culture system is also being perfected and supplemented。Furthermore, there are its own trunks and contexts in the internal system. This thesis is analyzing and representing the cultural structure of Teakwood by the way of cultural structure theory and deconstruction, aiming at exploring the cultural development of Teakwood and its development direction, to find out the source of Teakwood culture and to return to the original meaning.The culture structures of Teakwood divide into three levels. Surface culture is Teakwood body culture. It’s affected by Chinese and western body culture, and gradually performs as the complementary sports need of blending oriental and western culture. Middle culture is Teakwood system culture. It mainly means the cultural part of maintaining the normal operation of Teakwood, like Teakwood organizations, system establishment and so on. The core culture is Korean Confucian culture. It goes throughout the development of Teakwood. And it’s decisive factor of Teakwood of being different from other martial arts.
