| The swift Niu, Niu tail cut, Ngau Tau pile activities has distinct national characteristics.They are important manifestation of Wa Niu culture.They play an role of national landmark in the fusion of Chinese culture. The Niu culture is the combination of the material and spiritual civilization, consistent with the idea of soul, long-term guiding the individual behavior and social activities. In the Wa community,they have very important status and significance. If there were no Niu, both the produce activities and the social life would be too difficult to maintain the group order. Wa culture will be cast into the shade without Niu culture.Taming and using Niu has not only affected the productivity directly, but also changed the relations of production and social system. Niu culture is gradually formed in the production and social life.It is a reflection of language, religion, social system and people’s aesthetic psychology and other aspects. There are regional differences and ethnic differences in Niu cultural. Divided religiously, it includes southern buffalo culture, northern cattle culture and Western highland yak culture. The southern buffalo culture is the culture as a representative, fccusing on rice planting buffalo farming culture. The Wa Niu culture belongs to southern buffalo culture according to the region. However,it is different from the southern rice planting nations’buffalo farming culture.It is buffalo sacrifice culture.The research methods of historical ethnology is the main study method of this paper. The author comprehensive analysis on Wa Niu culture research that’s done in previous studies, trying to comprehensively explore and significance of the Niu culture status in the history. The innovation of the paper lies in linking the regional differences of Wa cattle culture before liberation and the different social morphology, refuting the "cattle worship" point of view, making it clearly that Wa Niu culture is southern type of buffalo sacrifice culture, studying the status and significance of the Wa Niu culture, and how does the Niu culture maintain and inheritance in modern society. |
