At present, the international Chinese language teaching has been developed to the countries in the world, overseas Chinese teaching has increasingly attracted more and more attention of scholars and teachers of Chinese language teaching profession. As an important part of the overseas Chinese language teaching, Chinese language teaching in the United States has also been a lot of concern. With the continuous development of Chinese language teaching in the United States, the number of primary and secondary schools offering Chinese language courses in the United States has also increased. However, due to basic education teaching philosophy and characteristics, as well as a variety of objective factors, the Chinese language teaching in primary and secondary schools in the United States is showing certain characteristics. The author will use her practice teaching in the elementary school in the United States as the basis and foundation to get thinking and recommendations for primary school Chinese language teaching in the United States.The main content of this paper is divided into six parts:Introduction part includes some of the major topics of origin, the significance of the topic, the innovation and research review, including Chinese teaching in the United States, the U.S. educational philosophy and the classroom management of Chinese Classroom in primary and secondary schools in the United States. The first chapter is teaching in general of M school, including the three parts of the basic situation, teaching philosophy and curriculum. The second chapter is M school Chinese teaching overall, including the reason and opportunity of M school Chinese teaching, curriculum design and aspects of implementation of Chinese teaching and Chinese classroom teaching. The third chapter is about Chinese classroom management of M school by analyzing the case of other classroom and Chinese classroom observation, and put up some principles and methods of the Chinese classroom management. The forth Chapter is about Chinese teachers’ cross-cultural exchanges in M school, respectively with school administrators, guidance teachers and other teachers, as well as interaction with parents. The fifth chapter is the thinking of Chinese teaching in primary schools in the United States, including several aspects of teaching philosophy, teaching content, teaching methods, classroom management and how to deal with cross-cultural relationships.In recent years, the study of Chinese language teaching in the United States in primary and secondary schools is richer than that in the past, but the study which is based on practical tours and put forward specific recommendations of the research is still rare. The author hopes this paper can provide effective thinking and recommendations about teaching, management, Chinese teachers intercultural communication based on the data and information obtained by the overseas internship experience in primary and secondary schools. |
