Function is a basic and important concept in mathematics, which reaches almost every corner in mathematical field, organically associated with the previous knowledge such as algebraic expression, equation and inequality knowledge. Meanwhile, the concept of function is one of the most difficult concepts for students during the mathematics study. Communicating with the school teachers, the author learned that the mistakes made in function study also made teachers puzzled.It is important to master function methods, to find out the nature of the errors for mathematic study. Author analyse the previous studies on function concept errors, most of the research is about the the whole middle school of the concept of error, few specific to a grade, one class, or a piece of content; most research methods are descriptive, proposing strategy, field trips, few examples follow the students in learning the concept of function generates an error, However, in the middle school and high school, the level of students’ cognitive is evolving constantly. Therefore, the function of the concept of teaching also should be changed accordingly, the level of students’ cognitive is evolving Therefore, the teaching of the concept of function should be changed.As the breakthrough point, this article tries to comb about the previous studies on function concept, by observing the teachers and students in teaching and learning the function, collecting the mistakes students make in classroom’s learning, homeworks and the teacher make in correcting, and tracking the teacher’s correction method to ensure the effectiveness in mistakes correction.This research mainly carries on the analysis from the following four aspects: mistake caused by definition incomprehension, mistake caused by improper transfer of previous knowledge which fails to establish a proper connection with the new one, mistake caused by not attaining the level of correlation structure and the rigidity of concept connection, and Non-cognitive errors. That by carefully analyzing the mistakes on their forms, function and causes can provide accordance for remedies used to handle the mistakes made in function concepts, and give enlightenment to teachers’ teaching strategies and so on.Research conclusion and suggestion:seeking for the examples in the mining life, to understand the function concept from real-life background; Review securely old knowledge, and lay a solid foundation for learning function; Deep and layers of depth, develop students’ comprehensive ability to analyze problems; Understanding based, supplemented by exercises to extend the function of the concept of learning time; Urge the students to develop good scientific study habits.In order to find the best teaching strategy, this study not only provide suggestions for students to learn function, but also provide reference for other researchers.
