The Case Teaching has its own development with experiencing buddinggeneration and development. As a participatory teaching method with thecharacteristics of realistic scenarios, enlightening, and forming the students’active inquiry and developing the students’ ability, it is widely used in varioustypes of training and higher education teaching, but less in senior biologyteaching.This paper summarized the implication, characteristics and researchingstatus of the case teaching. The possibility, main aspects and the basicprinciples of application of case teaching in "Stable state and Environment"module in biology teaching were also discussed. In this study, the caseteaching mode was constructed whose value orientation was to take thestudent as the main body and to develop students’ ability of innovation. Thecontrastive experiment results showed that the case teaching can improvestudents’ achievement, learning interesting, awareness of independent learningand innovation, and other abilities such as communication and cooperation.Therefore, the case teaching method is worth using in the teaching of biologyin senior high school.At present, the research of the case teaching of biology in middle schoolis also in the initial stage. With the deepening of the curriculum reform ofbiology in senior high school, it is still needed more and more educators dothe innovative research to make the case teaching more mature which in turn itcan play a significant role in teaching of biology.
