| Table tennis is our dominant competitive sports items, it set of sports, fitness and entertainment, leisure, educational and other functions in one, by different age, different segments of the popular fitness, is an indispensable element.Along with the school education should take the health first as the guiding ideology of further established, College Physical Education in order to adapt to today’s education reform and development, and constantly improve the curriculum goal, the implementation of sports skill, sports participation objective, physical health, mental health, social goal target to target as sports curriculum goal. Under this big background, must renew the teaching content, teaching methods and teaching means, in order to meet the needs of modern education development.In college, table tennis is very popular with the students, how can let more students love table tennis to use, and can make the rapid increase in table tennis skills, the need to improve the existing table tennis teaching methods, students play the main body role itself, so that the passive learning to active learning.In this paper, by using literature, expert interviews, questionnaire method, experimental method, data analysis and other research methods, on self-efficacy theory in detail, including its formation, development, effect factors, and it’s influence on sports activities and the former research and so on, for the previous study of improvement of teaching methods, to further expand the theory of self-efficacy in the teaching of table tennis. This experiment selects the Taishan Medical University public physical education class one grade lesson of table tennis classes of4students as the research object, select conditions:students have table tennis learning experiences for students. The subjects according to the natural classes were randomly divided into4groups:experimental group target girls, boys, girls in experimental group in the control group, the experimental group of boys. The selected classes including the science of different professional college students. In this paper the author through the control class and experimental class differences, as well as the experimental class and difference of experiment in detail design. Through the experiment the results obtained were as follows:1. In the table tennis teaching by applying the self-efficacy theory, can make the students improve their physical self efficacy2.
