Construction And Development Of Teaching Body In Wuhai Vocational And Technical College

As an important part of higher education and vocational education, highervocational education aims to foster first-line high-quality skilled specialtalentsfor production, construction, management and service, so it shoulder animportant mission and plays an irreplaceable role in the great process ofbuilding a power with strong human resources and outstanding highereducation. China’s higher vocational education has made great progress inrecent years, but compared with developed countries, it is still a newbornforce. As one of the important supporting conditions for the rapiddevelopment and growth of higher vocational education，the construction ofhigher vocational education teaching body has just begun. Thus, for a longperiod of time in the future, the major problems before higher vocationalcolleges will be improving the structure, strengthening the practice, andpromoting the quality.Based on the status and trends of Wuhai industrial development andconstruction, and based on the service function of vocational and technicalcolleges to further enhance the economic development of Wuhai, this paperstudied the teaching body of Wuhai Vocational and Technical College withliterature method and comparative analysis method. In the paper, I analyzed the current status problems of the teaching body of Wuhai Vocational andTechnical College by using the basic theory of the national higher vocationaleducation and management knowledge, and then on the base of the guidingideology of teaching body construction in Wuhai Vocational and TechnicalCollege and the development objectives of “Twelveth Five-Year Plan”, I putforward suggestions to teaching body construction of Wuhai Vocational andTechnical College in five aspects, including improve the structure and theoverall quality of teaching body by talent introducing, fostering and training;strengthen school-enterprise cooperation to promote the construction ofDouble-qualified teaching body; actively expand channels to promote theconstruction of part-time faculty; reinforce the institutional basis to introduceincentive and competition mechanism; offer governmental supportive policiesto promote the construction of teaching body.These suggestions can be used as a reference by Wuhai government in itsoverall planning of teacher fostering and training for vocational and technicaleducation. These suggestions also can guide the municipal government toprovide supportive policies to construct a vocational education teaching bodywith sufficient number, reasonable structure, outstanding professional abilitiesand plenty vigour, and to significantly improve the level of Wuhai vocationaleducation to meet the urgent needs of industries and enterprises in thesurrounding areas for high-quality skilled talents. In a word, the suggestionswill accelerate the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of Wuhai economy.Based on the status and trends of industrial development andconstruction in Wuhai, and on the service function of vocational and technicalcolleges to further enhance the economic development of Wuhai, this paperstudied the training objectives and direction of the local Vocational andTechnical College, therefore the suggestions in the paper adjoin Wuhaiindustrial needs and development and fit the trends of teaching bodyconstruction in Wuhai Vocational and Technical College. These theoreticaland practical suggestions can be a reference for teaching body constructionand development of other forms of vocational education in Wuhai, such assecondary vocational education and elementary vocational education.
