Research On Ideological And Political Education Of English Major Students In Colleges

Cultivating students into talents needed for the Party and the Countryis a concrete manifestation for our Party’s aim at administrating for thepeople. It is a sacred mission for colleges as well.To strengthen andimprove the ideological and political education in colleges has become ahot topic since the issue of the No.16document [2004].On Strengtheningand Improving the Ideological and Political Education in Colleges Furtherby the State Council. At present, there are many articles which have madediscussions on such issues as the importance, the urgency, the purpose, themethods, etc. of the ideological and political education in colleges. Hence,a great deal of valuable suggestions has been put forward. However, theresearches combined with the reality of students of English major arescarce.Therefore, it is significant to analyze how to reinforce and improve theguidelines, the basic principles and the requirements of ideological andpolitical education in major of English according to the demands of the development of times. Combining with the characteristics of English major,the current situation and the main problems are analyzed. This thesis aimsat studying the creative methods and channels of ideological and politicaleducation of English major.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts.The first part is to clarify the meaning of this research and the currentsituation of ideological and political education of English major.The second part focuses on the concept and connotation of theideological and political education and standards.The third part focuses on the investigation of the students of Englishin the ideological and political education and the reason of thesephenomenon.The forth part aims at putting forward some practical methods toimprove the ideological and political education of English major students.The fifth part serves as the conclusion.
