With the rapid development and gradually population of the Internet, cyberspacehas become an essential part of people’s life. Perhaps, in the future, computer will notonly related to calculation, but also determine our survival, as said by Gloria Ponty.Certainly, cyberspace broadens our horizons as well as generating new way ofinterpersonal communication on the Internet. Interpersonal communication throughthe network has broken the constrains in traditional interpersonal ways, and promotedthe liberation to a great extend. However, this situation also affects people’s ethics,cognitive thinking, outlook on life and real communication unprecedentedly. Collegestudents, who are active participants and advocates, play an important role in networkinteraction.However, university students are susceptible for their young age, lack of socialexperience and immature. Students are promoted themselves in the network, whilethey suffered an unprecedented negative impact. Therefore, it is quite important tounderstand and analysis the present situation of college students ’ interpersonalcommunication through network. It has good effect on the promoting good aspects ofInternet on the interpersonal communication and reducing bad influences. as well asbuilding the virtuous circle of college students’ Internet communication.This paper analyzed the basic status of the interpersonal communication throughnetwork of college students and its impacts, through the empirical research methodsdistributing questionnaire to350college students. The results show that students’interpersonal communication are in good condition on the whole, but some of the students’ behavior and thinking are problematic, such as Internet addiction. Therefore,in the age of Internet, how to strengthen the education on the internet communicationtowards students? How to make students switch the reality of interpersonal exchangesand network interpersonal exchanges timely? How to develop a healthy networkinterpersonal communication habits? What measures should be taken to solveproblems in interpersonal communication on the internet? These are unavoidablequestions in the education among modern college students.Generally speaking, this paper analyzed the positive and negative effect ofcollege students’ online socializing through the method of empirical analysis (ie.questionnaire analysis). Meanwhile, the author studied the depression phenomena(negative effect) of college student’s online socializing and tried to put forward somespecific countermeasures and suggestions, hoping to help the college students toestablish a healthy interpersonal relationship.
