Practice Of Ma Yuanzhang And Guo Nanpu’s Idea Of Revitalizing Religion Peacefully

Northwest Hui people were in a miserable plight of being suppressed, expelled and even slaughtered in most time during the reign of Qing Dynasty. In the face of alternation of new and old era, may religious people and intellectuals of Hui nationality began to reflect on miserable situation of northwest Hui nationality in old days at the beginning of Qing Dynasty and they were aware that the religion could be revitalized and Muslim people could hold their heads high when they took a path of revitalizing religion peacefully. As the seventh spiritual leader of Zheherenye religious sect, Ma Yuanzhang was the one reflecting most profoundly among so many people. He summarized experience of development of Zheherenye religious sect after accepting magisterium and devoted all his energies to digesting and implementing true Islam spirit and excellent traditional Chinese culture. Guo Nanpu, his student and good friend, coordinated the relationship between rulers and religion under guidance of harmony.
