Eryuan "Look Incense" Witchcraft Investigation

There is a culture of "KanXiang" witchcraft with a strong privacy in Dali Eryuan region. When people can not their own experience and modern science to get rid of encounter misfortune and difficulties, they will go to "KanXiang",and they want outside forces seek to help them find ways to escape the doom and dilemmas.As the general doom and difficulties that prompted them to use "KanXiang"witchcraft, so people generally do not want to mention "KanXiang" thing, therefore difficult to find there is such a culture outside of academics.Ⅰ am a native and returned to my hometown do fieldwork.I can clearly recognize the importance of "KanXiang" witchcraft culture on people’s lives, and I want to take the local "KanXiang" witchcraft culture to make a presentation, so that more people understand Eryuan areas outside witchcraft culture.Based on this, mainly involves the following aspects.First introduced the contact of local "KanXiang"Witchcraft and Benzhu beliefs, and classify the local witchcraft;Then the overall "KanXiang" witchcraft presentation,It is main content of "KanXiang"Witchcraft, including sorcerer, witchcraft rituals and peoples attitudes about witchcraft.Finally, the author made "KanXiang" witchcraft for thinking,analysis the idea base of the "KanXiang" witchcraft、"KanXiang" witchcraft function、"KanXiang" witchcraft and Benzhu beliefs relations and so on three aspects of content. The author thinks that the concept of "KanXiang" witchcraf is based on the idea of a comprehensive, is a principle of sympathetic magic and supernatural beliefs and collective potential power of the organic combination of a comprehensive.The function of the "KanXiang" witchcraf I think mainly manifested in the following two aspects,"KanXiang" witchcraf to pilgrims who have the function of emotional catharsis and "KanXiang" witchcraf is the main support strength of Benzhu beliefs. The author from three aspects to explore the relationship between "KanXiang" witchcra and Benzhu belief, based on their similarities, differences and their interaction are analyzed and discussed.
