| Youth is the future of a country. Hu Jintao attaches great importance to education of the youth, devoting much effort to China’s cause of education, especially to the work of youth education. In his series of talk, speech and discourse to the youth glistens and highlights the rays of truth on cultivating what kind of youth and how to cultivate them. Standing in the most forward position of era development, and focusing on the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Hu expounded his thinking on youth education from the height of the state and national destiny, inheriting and carrying forward the theories of youth education raised by the party’s leaders, which led to the formation of the distinctive characteristics of youth ideological and political education systematically, hierarchically and practically. He always adhere to the socialist direction of youth culture, set up the correct youth practice guidance, create Four New Generation actively, promote the all-round development of youth. Adhering to the ideal faith education as a core and highlighting theoretical education, Hu cultivates the youth through school education, self-taught and study abroad education on the basis of innovation education, which both promotes the thought and theory of youth education to certain theoretical height and advances the marxist ideas about the youth education into a new stage of development.Systematic research on viewpoints of Hu’s youth education thoughts and the construction of ideological and theoretical system will exert a profond influence on our serious study and in-depth understanding about Hu’s youth education thoughts as well as the comprehension and grasp of the theory system of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
