Construction Of Guangzhou Adult Children Caregivers’ Welfare Policy

Adult children is the primary caregivers of frail elderly parents. Faced by the growing elderly population and the gradual weakening family care ability, Guangzhou elderly care merit attention. As adult children are one of the most important resource of the elderly parents’ informal care system, this article carries out some welfare policy ideas, which are based on discussing Guangzhou adult children caregivers’ status and sufferings, and learning from the caregivers’welfare policy of foreign countries, to improve Guangzhou adult children caregivers’status. The article fills the gaps as no scholars has talked about the construction of Guangzhou adult children caregivers’ welfare policy. The points of the article combines the foreign countries’ experience of caregivers welfare policy with the local case study.
