Egypt Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamic political organization. It was foundedby Hassan al-Banna in1928. Through ups and downs, Muslim Brotherhood hasbecome an Islamic political group with the greatest influence, largest scale andstrictest structure in Egypt’s modern history. However, Muslim Brotherhood wasalways in an illegal condition. It gained the right of launching a political party untilMubarak government fell.Muslim Brotherhood,who has definite religious goals, political aims andcountless loyal followers, is different from the general non-governmentalorganizations. Its history and developing trend has a great influence on Egypt’s politic,economy, society and culture. The research on Muslim Brotherhood is meaningful forit provides information for improving China’s ability on the hot issues of Middle East.Muslim Brotherhood has a history of over eighty years, during which time itcooperated and struggled with the successive governments. The beginning part of thearticle analyzes the reasons why Muslim Brotherhood has a mass popular support andthe ability to survive governments’ suppressions by making a brief introduction aboutMuslim Brotherhood’s organization structure and ideology. The following partelaborates the social context when successive governments came to power and thesegovernments’ strategic options. Next, the article illustrates that Muslim Brotherhoodwas pragmatic and moderate gradually in these periods. The last part deals with thereasons why Muslim Brotherhood was toppled down when it has been in office foronly one year. The author argues that the incompetence of govern, the failure ofsaving its economy as well as its inability to handle the relationship with otherpolitical factions was the main reasons of Muslim Brotherhood’s failure...
