In2005, the general office of the State Council issued "on the strengthening of the protection of intangible cultural heritage in China", and the following year announced the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list, MengDing MangTuan Dai people’s handmade paper listed.Intangible Cultural Heritage heritaged by oral or action, and intangible cultural heritage together carrying the civilization of human society, also known as the "living fossil" on the back of the national memory and social history and culture.The Dai People who live in Gengma County, Lincang City of Yunnan province, make full use of their own one’s ability and cleverness in the long course of historical development, miraculously preserved ancient traditional manual papermaking technology, and still be handed down from age to age.Until now,the arts and crafts still be used in the daily life of economic production and living.In this paper, through the field of local Dai people handmade paper activity study, on the basis of making full use of system analysis comparative and inductive method, the anthropology more comprehensive investigation on the local Dai community and handmade paper this ancient art,will do a morecomprehensive anthropological investigation of the local Dai community and the ancient skill.Through the field investigation, this paper explores the characteristics of the Dai culture and social change behind the paper-making process.The positive significance of the social mainstream consumer culture. Through the typical examples of Dai people’s handmade paper, hope to provide certain reference function to the protection and development of other crafts of intangible cultural heritage.The article divided into three parts.First of all, make the manual papermaking processes and techniques clear, show the complete historical context. Focus on the role of handmade paper in local Dai people’s daily life with the perspective of local knowledge. As the final product, the paper, become daily necessities instead of the Buddhist paper, and eventually become the market products, widely used in religion, art, folklore and circulation of commodities and other aspects. Through the study on the function changes of paper, experience of Dai People’s social life in Mengding area can be indirectly contact.Second, cultural consumption has now become an important consumer issues of the mainstream culture. After the rise of Pu’er tea, the Lincang Prefecture Dai handmade paper with the name of the national intangible cultural heritage, coupled with its own a tough texture soft, dense, breathable, has become a high-end tea wrapping paper material. Handmade paper also has new trends with the rise of tea consumption.Finally, as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage, Mangtuan group handmade paper skills promoted by the town government departments at all levels.such as the Mangtuan Village papermaking cooperatives established, ongoing acres Papyriferalventcultivation projects. This section will focus on interaction between government action and paper households, to explore the important role and significance of the government action in themarket-oriented protection.Thesis relates to technology, anthropology, and other intangeable cultrue heritage protection and other cross-disciplinary. Mangtuan Village handmade paper art, concerned about the paper products circulation, market-oriented protection, the local government and other role played an important role in the protection intangeable cultural heritage. Protect the skills of handmade paper, not only need the publicity and promotion of the local government,also these skills should deeply rooted in the daily life of the local people, only in this way could make handmade paper skills eternal vitality.
