Research On The Living Conditions Of The Elderly In Beijing And Social Support System

Beijing is one of the cities that become aging early in our country, which has arapid development trend of aging. Response to the challenges of aging in the future, itis necessary to establish a comprehensive system of social support for the elderly. Inthis context, we consider the elderly in Beijing as the research object, and the elderlyliving situation and social support system as the scope of the study,extract the thirdphase of the women’s social status sampling survey in2010of Beijing elderly volumedata, analyzed the elderly living conditions and social support system in Beijing,Eventually obtain the perfect ideas and countermeasures to construct the old socialsupport system.Chapter one raised living condition and social support system establishmentissue Based on aging population in Beijing, regarding living condition and socialsupport system area, the article presents the summary of previous living condition andsocial support system in aging population. Depending on data from Beijing agingpopulation sample of2010national wide3rd edition in woman society andquantitative qualitative analysis method, a research framework is presented with thepre-requisite that establishing social support system is an effective way improvessenior citizens living condition. In second paragraph, analysis focuses on livingcondition, primarily indicating common condition, financial situation, physicalcondition, leisure activity. From the result, the aging population problem becomesmore serious in recent year; the elder population is increasing as well. The financialsupport of Beijing senior citizen is pensions and retirement pay. Comparing with ruralarea, senior citizens in urban area are more economic independent and are able tocover basic needs. In contrast, senior citizens in rural area suffer from lower incomeand worse physical condition. Among elder senior citizens, the physical conditionappears to be worse. According to leisure activity analysis, the system is incompleteand without full functionality. In third paragraph, social support system is brought outand detailed in law, regulation, policy, basic pensions and retirement pay, Service ofaged-care at Home, etc. Meanwhile, it includes the compensation of financial support,living support and care, spirit consolation and other unofficial ways. As a result, thelaw and regulation is incomplete and ill-marketing in Beijing aging population. Aportion of senior citizens are barely aware of relevant policy; Basic pensions andretirement pay is not able to cover all population; There is limited help for senior citizen with special needs; the financial support, living support and care, spiritconsolation are necessary to senior citizens. The fourth paragraph proposes solution tosocial support system improvement. Depending on this solution, a completed strategyis brought out that the government is supposed to strengthen marketing at law andregulation, improve social pension insurance system, enhance senior citizen workrights and develop aging related industry.
