It is common to see protests in many countries all over the world and the politicsof protest have exerted influences in various aspects. We should pay full attention tothe mechanism and change of protests, beacuse if not properly handled, protestswould be worsening and devastating, such as in the Arab Spring and otherdemonstrations or strikes. In the1980s,both the Kwangiu Uprising in South Koreaand the Formosa incident in Taiwan have deeply impacted the political developmentand change of South Korea and Taiwan. The thesis narrates and analyzes thebackgrounds, development and influences of the very two cases,with the analyzingmodel of recently published books on protesting politics, hoping to get clues onmanaging the incidents and uprisings of protests.
