This article regard to this phenomenon believe that the source of Xue Ji’s status is from his tutor Chu Suiliang, who is known as the founder of calligrapher and is rather a tutor than an innovator. Thus Xue Ji is faded in Chu Suiliang’s shadow.This paper focus on the influence and impact from Chu Suiliang on Xue Ji, and talk about the traditional topic about inheritance and innovation, inheritance is the foundation of innovation. Learn the ancients is not just an individual method of learning but also a history of inheritance, those calligraphy successors, who were willingly to be faded, developed the glorious traditional calligraphy. In conclusion, Xue Ji’s heritage promoted the the extension of Chu Suiliang’s Calligraphy Work.Analyzing the brushwork and structure of "Xinxing Chan Master Stele", the magnum opus of Xue Ji, this article explore the calligraphy style of Xue Ji. To have a deeper vision of Xue Ji and his calligraphy, this paper compares the likeness and unlikeness between Xue Ji’s "Xinxing Chan Master Stele" and Chu Suiliang’s "Yanta Shengjiao Xu". |
