The thesis is based on Chinese character learning objectives and cognitive theory, tentatively analyze the current Chinese characters learning situation of the primary stage Confucius Institute students in Bulacan State University of Philippines, and proposed the corresponding teaching strategies. The thesis discussed four aspects. First, come up with four consciousness cultivating as the goals of Chinese character teaching, summarizes the five cognitive stage on students’ acquisition of Chinese characters and analyzes the students characters of cognitive processing methods; Secondly, by investigating students’ acquisition situation, analyze the cognitive situation of primary stage students Chinese characters learning; Furthermore, according to the analysis of students’ Chinese character errors phenomenon, summarizes the difficulties of students learning Chinese characters; Moreover, to help students build Chinese cognitive mechanism,to develop the students’ ability of Chinese characters, the thesis puts forward "literacy" strategy of Chinese characters teaching. Finally it concludes:the teaching of Chinese characters is synchronous with pinyin teaching; the point of Chinese characters are strengthening the CNS knowledge teaching and developing students’ consciousness of component; and through reading practice and applying knowledge of Chinese characters in students’ life are the ways to strengthen teaching effect.
