Present moment, there are some different views about “Bian-Sai” in academic circles, aftersome comb work, we got the differences of these views, and finally, we think,“Bian-Sai” is notonly a kind of history concept or geography concept, but also a kind of cultural feeling, in thispoint of view, it is a kind of imagination, state and life style, for thousands years, it became onekind of typical example life in Chinese culture. With the result of that, we’d like to do the researchfrom cultural feeling, my definition of “Bian-Sai” should possess3point. First, it must be somekind of category of army, and the object must be army life, including the life in the barracks, themilitary training, the fighting spectacle, and so on. Second, in etymology, the “Bian” means “thefrontier”, and the “Sai” means “the strategic pass”, which means the word must be related aboutthe national defense. Third, for thousands years, as the change of our country’s territory, the frontfort of China has also been changed.The “Bian-Sai” theatre in the present age is the theatre was produced by the members in thearmy, and must be produced in the frontier fort, as a text, it must belongs the army literature, itwas made by the members in the army, and it should displayed the life in the frontier fort and thenational defense.The Chinese “Bian-Sai” theatre in the present age have three kind of state. First, Two subjects,the first subject is about the war, the second subject is against the enemy’s special duties, the twosubjects made the vertical relation trend about the content of “Bian-Sai” theatre. Second, Thecrosswise state of “Bian-Sai” theatre is very obvious. Third, Contrast the crosswise and thevertical relation, we found that there are some criss cross state in the Chinese “Bian-Sai” theatre inthe present age.There are4respects in the Chinese “Bian-Sai” theatre, the army style, thepublicize style, the touchy style and the indicate style. The “Bian-Sai” in the present age isdifferent from the ancient times’, and including four parts, the northeast area, the southeast area,the southwest area and the northwest area.There are eight primary theatre company in the army expect for the Zongzheng Drama Group,the Kongzheng Drama Group and the Haizheng Drama Group, they are Zhanyou Drama Group inPeking military region, Qianjin Drama Group in Shenyang military region, Qianwei Drama Group in Jinan military region, Qianxian Drama Group in Nanjing military region, Zhanshi Drama Groupin Guangzhou military region, Zhanqi Drama Group in Chengdu military region, Guofang DramaGroup in Kunming military region, Zhandou Drama Group in Lanzhou military region.The “Bian-Sai” theatre in northeast was created in the1950s, which was aimed at the war toresist US Aggression and Aid Korea. The southeast area’s theatre works was aimed at the fightabout the islands and the struggles against the spies of our enemy. In the southwest area, we areattached importance to the relationships to our neighbouring country, and there are also veryimportant to describe the contradiction between to the enemy and different ethnics, besides, thefriendship in the different ethnics and between the army and people is also very important.In the theatre works of southwest area, we stressed Yunnan province’s “Bian-Sai” theatre.There are4stages in the Guofang Drama Group’s artistic work, the arranged time(1950-1957), thedeveloped time(1958-1965), the thwarted time(1966-1977) and the resuscitated time(1978-1984).In these four stages, the Guofang Drama Group have created plenty of plays about “Bian-Sai”culture, for example, the “Night song of the border area”,the “In the midninght of the Bian-Sai”,the “Gun”, the “Remote Meng-longsha”,the “Victory is coming”.After that, we chosed some playtoanalyse, and we think, there are some common nature about “Bian-Sai” theatre between Yunnanand other palce, but we must also understand, there are some individualities about the “Bian-Sai”theatre in Yunnan, which demonstrate two kind of parts: the multi-ethnic situation and thecomplicated contradictions in the border area. Besides, we think the consciousness of our borderarea is changing, that’s our verdict.This dissertation concentrates on”Bian-Sai” opera in modern Yunnan,which was not justYunnan,but put this question on the modern military background to discuss. The x axis expresstwo aspects,firstly,Yunan opera has certain characteristic that is distinctive with other part but alsocontract. The y axis connects full of power and grandeur which inherits from “Bian-Sai” culture inthe past and show the trend of future’s.After80s,the war surround the border become fewer and fewer.Owing to this cause,theinfluence of “Bian-Sai” opera is slowing down that was not the trend in Yunnan but all over thenation.According to economic globalization and political pluralization, the border turn from thebastion protect national security,to the Passageway which is good for the connection betweensovereign states. the truth we cannot doubt is over the past of half century, China is going to be a confident nation,not just a independent country.Form Yunnan to China,form the past to modern,this paper shows that the nation and itsboundary exit and will exit in long run.“Bian-Sai” is not only the aspect in the geology but alsothe channel for culture dimensional.As the old word says: Everything real is rational.“Bian-Sai”culture is the important part of Chinese culture that we cannot ignore.
