‘Lost’ aria is a way to express the strong inner feeling of role before death. In opera, it explains theupcoming of storyline, and foretells the tragic result. The function of that is to deepen the theme. In1980s,Chinese opera entered a new developing peirod. Compared with comedy,‘lost’ aira is combined with acertain extent elements of tragic. Representative pieces such as <Shang Shi> and <Yuan Ye>, both ofthem became the focus of this peirod when they weer created. They demonstrated ‘lost’ aira andperformed the tragic glamour in theater, musical and singing aspects. Through analysis, we can feel themain role’s soul from death, a tragic situation, excavated the connotation of piece and hold the performway of Most’ aira.
