This paper is to study and to analyze the Neo-dada artist Rauschenberg’s spirit of‘combine’and ‘migration’in the50s and60s of last century. At the same time, toexplore the initial face of the rise of American modern art in the world, as witnessedand participated in by Rauschenberg, the representative of ‘American art’.First, with consideration of Rauschenberg’s art work creation, this paper paidattention to the root and expansion of his creating thoughts of art in that period, andthe relationship with social culture at that time; then analyzed the aesthetic ideologyand cultural meaning of his art works; in the end, this paper focused on his travelsabroad and creation activities at that time, and his foreign experience (such asexhibitions, important participators, awards, public opinion) and interactionrelationship with local art groups, so as to further understand the dynamic process ofhow the international influence of Rauschenberg and the ‘American art’he stood forrose up step by step. The discussion above can help generally acknowledgeRauschenberg’s art thoughts, and enrich the studies about real look of the art worldafter World War II.
