Daisaku Ikeda was born in Ota, Tokyo, Japan in1928. As a teenager, he attended the Toyo Business College and Fuji University Junior College majored in economics. After graduation from Junior College, he joined the Soka Gakkai organization taught by the second-generation president Josei Toda, who greatly appreciated him. Ikeda became the third-generation president of Soka Gakkai in1960, and now he is the honorary president of Japan Soka Gakkai and the president of Soka Gakkai International. He is an international acclaimed social activist, thinker, philosopher, educator, religionist, poet laureate as well as a world-renowned international humanitarian and writer. He founded several institutions, such as the Soka University, and the Komeito Party which has made great contributions to the communication between China and Japan. The horror he witnessed as a teenager during Japanese militarism and the enlightenment he struck by his mentor Josei Toda made him give birth to a lifelong passion to work for peace and attend numerous international activities for the advancement of society. He sticks to the humanistic value and emphasizes the respect of every person, thinking that the things that make people human are free-thinking and independent personality. His thoughts and deeds to promote peace through humanism go with the trend of modern times, propel the stability and development of human society, and are attached a great deal of value by academic circles from around the world. As one of the non-government organization, Soka Gakkai International (SGI) founded by Daisaku Ikeda advances the common objective of world peace and the individual happiness. Its core idea is value-creation, which is to creating the value of life. As the founder, his thought and idea are carried through the organization and can be best embodied in SGI’s peace proposals.Every year, on26January, since1983, Ikeda presents a peace proposal, and has altogether presented nearly30pieces, with "human" as their recurrent theme. He cares for human being and has always paid great attention to human life and spirit, human coexistence and culture. As is well-known, his idea and presentation are mostly in the form of dialogue, and the characteristics of his thoughts system are openness and extensibility. Those peace proposals in a sense can be regarded as the summary and expansion of his thoughts, and are of great help for us to probe his mind. The peace proposals embody penetrating ideas proposed by Daisaku Ikeda for the human progress. Their main themes are about "human", proposals humanity and human nature, adherence to "inner spiritual revolution" and "coexistence", and thinking freely about "global citizen" and "earth civilization". What’s more, the insight about today’s international situation implicating in the SGI’s peace proposals has been branded by Daisaku Ikeda. Nowadays, peace and development are the two subjects of the world. They two are inseparably bound to each other. However, peace seems to take more priority and decision in the future and fate of mankind. He emphasizes that the central premise of the21th century is peace, which is a kind of value incomparable and irreplaceable and is an ideological trend shared by all human. The proposals also advocate that peace and human are the eternal topics. After entering the21th century, the world situation has been changing dramatically; nevertheless, Daisaku Ikeda has a great eye in the complicated situation and has a unique cognition of the world, society and human.Focused on SGI’s peace proposals and combined with the historical background and social trends, this paper makes an analysis and research of Daisaku Ikeda, the connotation and practical significance of the ideas of Value-Creating, which functions as a clear template and is helpful to us to grasp them. As for China, drawing experience from Ikeda’s humanistic value makes its development follow the idea that the basic value of society is reflected on every individual human, and can serve as a reference and comparison for shared values all levels of society have who have different value orientation due to the gap between rich and poor.
