His remarkableepic is acknowledged as the source of western literature, its influence has spread invarious periods in the development of western literature. Professor Ross gives hisevaluation: Homer “in all aspects of ancient Greek and European literature” set thedevelopment of “a proper direction.” In the history of western civilization, the ancientGreeks in one of the most important starting point, the Greek culture not only stronglyshaped the western tradition, but also shaped today’s world.It includes Iliad and Odyssey.
