‘Fragment Sculpture’ came from the description of the sculpture fragmentsunearthed in ancient Greek, but for Western Representational Sculpture which has acomplete reproduction system, it’s only of the value as cultural relics, or as thematerial to study the language of ancient sculpture, and won’t be regarded ascomplete sculpture of its own. While into postmodern cultural environment, where‘Fragmentation’ was popular, fragment itself achieved integrity with the potential, anddrastically destroyed the traditional form of sculpture in ‘integrity’.The context will discuss what ‘fragment sculpture’ reflects the integrity based onseveral aspects, such as social culture/the history of sculpture/aesthetic integrity, toillustrate that fragment sculpture has integrate aesthetic as other sculptures have, anddevelop the sculptor’s unique language form via active application and study. Chapter1describes the current cultural situation of ‘Fragment’ and the influence upon art;Chapter2selectively analyzes the sculptors who subjectively utilize ‘FragmentSculpture’ within the history of sculpture, and Luodan is the boundary, from whomthere separated two roads gradually. In Chapter3, I’m trying to illustrate theadvantage that fragment sculpture achieved from integrity, as well as the conditionrequired, based on the relationship of body integrity and locality of sculpture/fragment and integrity/the significance that fragment reflected upon form language/limitation and integrity of fragment, etc.
