The economic globalization has gradually changed the inner market international. Fierce market-competition, strict talent-selection or multiplied culture-form has undoubtedly brought forward higher requirements towards graduates on both inner and outer qualities. In the long term significance, ideological and ethical quality, psychological quality as well as cultural quality are the real factors to decide on an unbeatable talent. Therefore, the ideological and political education has been one of the most important parts in talents-training in Higher Education. In addition, the ideological and political education in Higher Vocational Education assumes more urgent because of its specialty in students’ status and multipurpose in talent-training program. To achieve this goal,the document from Central Committee of Communist Party and the State Council "Further Enhancement in Ideological and Political Education in Higher Education" raised a higher goal to further enhance the ideological and political education on even larger scale and in an all-round way. This dissertation focus on the ideological and political education in higher vocational English teaching and probe into the educating function, the educating content, educating premise and how to educate with the purpose to make up for the inadequacy in higher ideological and political education, and in addition, to reveal an innovative way to bring educating function in English teaching. It can help play an active role to enhance the ideological and political effect in highter vocational English teaching.This dissertation firstly analyses the necessity and possibility for the ideological and political education to be developed in higher English teaching:the necessity is presented in the actual requirements in the talent-training-goal, the ideological and moral traits development and the practical effect in ideological and political training in higher vocational education, while the possibility is demonstrated in the coordination between ideological and political eduction and English teaching goals, English teaching contents and English teaching process. This dessertation has put the emphasis on the English contents that can help bring ideological and political education, such as to set the right view of world, life and value; to foster patriatic enthusiasm; to build the basic ethics and morality and to form a healthy mental state. In the end,the dissertation has given some premises based on the specialty in students and English teaching in higher vocational education, like to create a bilingual environment on campus, to improve the political and moral consciousness in English teachers and to encourage students to receive ideological and political education in class. Meanwhile, the dessertation provided some tactics to achieve the educating goal in English teaching: bring ideological and political education to the first place in our teachers consciousness:optimize teaching contents;design activities with ideological aspects; strict teacher’s behavior in class and enphasize on the evaluation of teaching materials.
