Before Song Dynasty Map Landscape Elements

If we take a look at the history of the development of Chinese landscape painting, we can find that the earliest landscape painting works in the historical record was during the Wei and Jin Dynasty, even the first real stuff was created in the Northern Song dynasty. Compared to the landscape painting, the history of the development of map is much more clear, according to the historical records, the earliest map can be traced back to the three dynasties period. Map and landscape painting have a common description of landscape and pastoral, they are both related to the practical problems.In this paper, I started from the early maps which are reliable, made analysis of the important maps since the Pre-Qin Dynasty, combined with the practice experience in my studing in the landscape painting, tried to find the possibility of the elements of landscape painting from the early maps, made it clear that how did landscape painting change from the real world to a piece of paper, how did it transform from being practical to being ornamental, made me understand how did landscape painting start.
