Gansu Jingning (River City) Speech Research Dialect

JingNing, which is one of countries of Pingling City, Gansu province, locates in the east of Gansu, west of LiuPanShan and east of HuaGuLing. Its neighboring countries, from the East to the Northwest are Longde, Qinan, Tongwei, Xiji and Huining. JingNing dialect belongs to one branch of languages of Gansu province. There exist obvious differences among JingNing dialect. Combining the regional characteristics and pronunciation, it can be mainly divided into south dialect and north dialect, which is represented by Chengguan Town and Lidian Town respectively.On the whole, the paper develops by choosing Chengchuan country as a representative on the base of overall analysis of JingNing dialect’s pronunciation. In the framework of mediaeval sound system, JingNing dialect characteristics are highlighted by the following three aspects:ancient and modern pronunciation contrast, the internal differences of JingNing dialect and the comparison between JingNing dialect and its neighboring region dialects. This paper consists of five parts, respectively the introduction, JingNing dialect phonetic analysis, homophones of JingNing dialect vocabulary, the synchronic changes of JingNing dialect and the comparison between JingNing dialect and ancient Chinese phonology. The author tries to take a deep glance at JingNing dialects and provide samples for the diachronic study of phonetic evolution. Meanwhile the synchronic research can also provide a basis for pronunciation comparison of different regions and the measurement of pronunciation regional evolution model, and thus laying a foundation for the phonetic study from Static description of synchronic plane to the levels of dynamic analysis. Phonetic research can also provide the basis and reference for a better job of vocabulary, grammar and for further study of synchronic change law on the northwest Chinese dialect.Based on In-depth and width researches in the field, this paper takes the way of mainly describing and appropriately comparing. It strives to develop from language itself and tries to be as objective, real, comprehensive, accurate as possible to reflect the linguistic facts.The paper also applies many research theories and methods, such as dialect geography and experimental phonetics to analyze phonetic characteristics and the law of development of JingNing dialects in order to enhance the level and value of research.
