| Metaphor is not merely one of the modes for cognizing real object and figuringartistic image, but a main method for creating new meanings. With the developmentof cognitive science, metaphor has become a hotspot in linguistics research area.According to conceptual metaphor theory from Lakoff and Johnson, metaphor is notonly a creative way of using language, but also a thought pattern to know about things,think about things, and form the concept.From the perspective of cognitive linguistics, and under the guidance ofconceptual metaphor theory, this paper is based on the consolidated metaphor studyhistory at home and abroad, and using the metaphorical mapping model mechanismcontrast mapping relationship between the body-part terms and non-body-part termsin Russian and Chinese. Finally, the author analyzes the commonness andindividuality of metaphor of human words from the view of universal regularities ofhuman understanding of the world as well as the cultural differences of differentcountries.There are four chapters in this paper:Chapter One summarizes the metaphor researches at home and abroad, and thenexplains the research on body-part terms metaphor.Chapter Two elaborates the definition of metaphor, its characteristics, and itsclassification together with function. Then define the related concepts of the paper. Itis based on conceptual metaphor theory, and from the perspective of cognitivelinguistics.Chapter Three is the main part of this thesis. It is mainly focus on the study ofmetaphor formation process—mapping model. The author compared and analyzed thethree mapping model of metaphor of body-part terms in Russian and Chinese througha large number of examples.Chapter Four explores the commonness and individuality metaphor of body-partterms in Russian and Chinese from the point of view of philosophy, cognize andculture under the theoretical and material analysis in above chapters.Conclusion. The author of this paper summarizes and concludes the value andachievement of this paper. |
